Dey seem to fink I wike to chase balls. I seem to be da onwy one to weally undastand dat I'm doing dem a favaw. I'm giving dem der exewcise (especiawy that Big Daddy, as I mentioned befow). I just go get a ball ow a toy (I've built up a whole box of dem because of dis wittle woutine) and bring it to dem. I dwop it cwose to dere feet ow hand and step back. Soon dey eiver pick it up ow kick it...I wetwieve it and we do it ovew and ovew again.

Some people pay good money for a pawsonal twaina. My family doesn't weally need one. I'm hepping dem out a wot.

An Observation

Excuse me for interrupting this series of vignettes from a precocious little dog but I believe an observation is warranted here.

Aren't we all like Penny? Who are we to think we are in control?

Penny thinks she is the one who is really in charge. She is a dog. She really isn't in charge. It's all just an illusion. From her perspective she seems to be...but she isn't.

Don't we all act that way with God. Our relationship to Him is similar to Penny's relationship to us. We think that we are the captain of our ship, the master of our soul and that we are really in control. We run our errands and make our plans for tomorrow. This all gives us the illusion of control.

Don't deceive yourself. God is sovereign. He is in charge. Not a bird falls to the ground without Him knowing. He controls the reach of the ocean. Whatever He brings into your life, it is in His plan.

Humble yourself and trust Him.

Now back to our regularly scheduled...dog.

I've noticed dat evewy once in a while dey will awe sit down to watch dis "box" fing together. I fink da box has pictures on it and such. Well who would want to waste yore time to watch dat? Wouldn't yew wather pway and go outside?

Sometimes I'll let dem watch but most of da time all I haf to do is wing dat bell and dey will stop watching and get off der wazy watermewons and wet me out. It is weally fun to do it wight after dey all get comfowtable.

I'm helping dem out don't you know! Dey need the exercise, especiawy that Big Daddy. He is getting just a wittle soft in the middle if you know what I mean.

Healf Update

Big Mama and I just got back fwum the doctor's office. It was scayawy. Dr Dees checked me over and told Mama dat I probably need medication, pwobabwy potassium ba-sumthin. But she tawt it would be good idea to wun a couple of tests on me about my wiver enzymes to see if I have a "shunt" or sumfin like dat. They wood "knock me out". Dat doesn't sounds wike fun to me. I need sum weassurance from my famiwy dat it wouldn't hurt too much. Mama says de test cost $425 and a biopsy $315. I hope you don't mind spendin mow money on me. I know it dusn't gwow on twees.

As I sade, I wive with fowr hoomans who awe opewating undah some majuh dewusions of gwandeur. I weally don't know where dey get dare iwwusions of contwol. Wet me sha-uh one example (with moe to come). Dey have dis silvuh, half-ball looking fing on the flore by our back doe. I've herad dem call it a "bell".

Hewe is the funny fing...everytime I wing that bell....dey come WUNNING!!! WEALLY FAST!!! Sometimes I have to wing it twice for dem to hewe it...dey don't hewe so well sometimes...unwike us dawgs! Huumph. As soon as dey do hewe it dey come wunning and open da doe...for ME! Den I do my business awtside and dey open it again and wet me in.
